Muktinath Yatra believed that all miseries and sorrows are relieved once you visit this temple (Mukti = Nirvana, Nath = God). The famous temple of Lord Muktinath is a sacred place for both Hindus and Buddhists lies in the district of Mustang and is situated about 18 km northeast of Jomsom at an altitude of about 3,749 mt. (12184 ft.) The main shrine is a pagoda-shaped temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Set into the wall around it, are 108 water spouts from which pour holy water. The Jwala Mai (goddess of flame) temple nearby contains a spring and an eternal flame fed by natural gas underground. About 16 miles from Muktinath is the Damodara Kundam, the source of Kali Gandaki River. One can find Saligrama stones on the bank of this river. There are accommodation facilities available in Jomsom and Muktinath from where one can enjoy the remarkable natural beauty. There are different ways to get to Muktinath from Kathmandu. Either take a direct flight from Kathmandu via Pokhara to Jomsom, take a helicopter or Private Jeep, Here we have suggested you to take flight and jeep option. DAY 01: ARRIVE KATHMANDU
Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu. Welcome, meet, assist by our representative & transfer to hotel. Welcome drink followed by tour briefing. Evening is free for your own leisure. Stay Overnight at Kathmandu.
DAY 02: KATHMANDU SIGHTSEEING
Breakfast, proceed for the full-day sightseeing to Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, & Budhanilkantha and then back to hotel. We will take you to Arati at the Pashupatinath in the evening. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 03: DRIVE KATHMANDU –MANAKAMANA – POKHARA
Drive to Pokhara (200KM / 6 hours) observing the scenic views on the national highway along the Trishuli River. Enroute visit Manakamana temple. check into the hotel. Evening walk around the tourist area of lake side and enjoy the view of western Himalayan ranges with Mt Fishtail. Return to hotel and overnight.
DAY 04 : FLY FROM POKHARA TO JOMSOM THEN DRIVE TO MUKTINATH.
Morning from Pokhara to Jomsom approx.15 minutes flights, Hotel Check-In, then walk around 20 minutes to reach at Jeep Station and drive to Muktinath by local sharing jeep (1.30 hrs) along the Kaligandaki river. To reach at Muktinath Temple needs to walk ascending around 30 mins. Those who can’t walk can hire a motorbike by paying extra to bike driver. After Puja at the Temple back to Jomsom for the Overnight stay.
Day 05: FLY FROM JOMSOM TO POKHARA & SIGHTSEEING
Early morning fly back to Pokhara, Pick up from Airport and transfer to Hotel. After Breakfast proceeds to Pokhara city sightseeing places to visit like:
Bindabashini Temple: Bindabashini is also one of the most popular temples in Pokhara. The temple is dedicated to goddess Bhagwati, another manifestation of Shakti. Bindabashini is the mother goddess who fulfills the wishes of her devotees.
Barahi Temple: The Barahi temple is the most important monument in Pokhara. Built almost in the center of Phewa Lake, this two-storyed pagoda is dedicated to the boar manifestation of’ Ajima, the protesters’ deity representing- the female force Shakti. Devotees can be seen, especially on Saturdays, carrying male animals and fowl across the lake to be sacrificed to the deity.
DAY 06: DRIVE TO MANAKAMANA TEMPLE
Breakfast and transfer to back to Kathmandu. Free time at your leisure. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 07: DEPARTURE
Free until you are transferred to the international airport for onward journey.
