Mount Kailash – the holiest mountain in Asia and the world. Considered the navel of the universe, where heaven and earth embrace, Mount Kailash has attracted devout pilgrims to its base for more than two thousand years. It is believed that one full parikrama (kora, circuit/circumambulation) of the sacred Mount Kailash (54km / 32 miles) erases sins of a lifetime. The Mansarovar lake, another highlight of the trip, will mesmerize its visitors with its celestial color and crystal clarity! For those looking for an unforgettable adventure, this pilgrimage provides unparalleled rugged beauty, remoteness and solitude.
Although even trekkers with not a lot of trekking experience can do the tour, it is important to note that the Kailash and Mansarovar Tour features rigorous overland driving, trekking and camping, all of which occurs in the remote and untamed western areas of Tibet, in altitudes between 2745m and 4880m, with some hikes ascending as high as 5610m. Therefore, visitors must have the altitude and the seriousness of the trip in mind before deciding to embark on a journey such as this one. For the ones with the appropriate physical capabilities that will accept the challenge, this journey will leave them with lifelong memories!
