The Annapurna Panorama trek is one of the classic treks in one of the most visited areas in Nepal – the Annapurna region. The Annapurna region is highly rewarding both in a landscapes sense and in a cultural sense. One will have the chance to fully immerse with the local Gurung culture while trekking through some of the most beautiful areas in the world. Due to its relative easy trail and natural and cultural tourists, this trek regularly attracts tourists from all around the world.
The Annapurna Panorama Trek begins from the city of lakes – Pokhara and surpasses through the afforested trails cross-passing several traditional settlements, small streams and terraced paddy fields. The cheery expressions of local inhabitants greet you in throughout the trail which only gives you strength to walk forward and discover what the journey will bring forth. The whole course offers you the most mesmerizing bird’s eye vitas of Himalayas and breathtaking landscapes. The culturally rich village Ghandruk inhabited by Gurungs and the most exotic Himalayan view-point of the region – Poon Hill are the highlights of this trek.
The biggest reward of the trek is achieved with arriving at Poon Hill, which is famous among the trekking aficionados for the elegant sunrise and sunset view over Annapurna and Dhaulagiri massifs. The small hill station offers orbital panoramic views of all the Himalayan peaks of the region. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Machhapuchare, Gangapurna and other eye-catching peaks glitter like gold from Poonhill. As a reward after the uphill, naturally hot water springs in Tatopani are awaiting the trekkers to relax their body after the trek.
In general the Annapurna Panorama trek is soft and short trek that shares the astounding views of Himalayas and wealthy ethnic culture and heart touching generosity. It is suitable for trekking year round, although the best time to visit is September to June.
Day 1 :Arrival at the Tribuwan International Airport in Kathmandu (1,345m).Overnight at a hotel.
Day 2 :Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (850meters), 200km: 6-7 hours. Overnight at Hotel
Day 3 :After breakfast, drive from Pokhara to Nayapul 1 hour and start trek to Tikhe Dhunga (1495 meters) – 4 hours. Overnight at Local Guest House
Day 4 :Trek to Ghorepani (2850meters) – 6 hours. Overnight at Local Guest House.
Day 5 :Early Morning Hike up to Poonhill (3210meters) to view sunrise and return to Guest house. After breakfast trek to Tadapani (2520 meters) -8 hours. Overnight at Local Guest House.
Day 6 :Trek to Ghandruk (2070meters)-3 hours.Overnight at Local Guest House.
Day 7 :Trek to Chhomrong (2170meters)-5 hours.Overnight at Local Guest House.
Day 8 :Trek to Landruk (1760 meters) -5 hours. Overnight at Local Guest House.
Day 9 :Trek to Dhampus (1590meters) – 5 hours. Overnight at Local Guest House.
Day 10 :Trek to down to Phedi -2 hours and drive back to Kathmandu. Overnight at Hotel
Day 11 :Drive back to kathmandu by a tourist bus: 6-7 hours.
Day 12 :Transfer to airport and fly back to home.
